Odesa

Odesa is a wine region on Ukraine's Black Sea coast, with salt estuaries and fertile black soils. Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, south of Odesa, is a historic wine area. Grapes grown across the region include Chardonnay, Muscat, Traminer, Cabernet, Bastardo and Pinot Noir.

Odesa has continental and maritime influences, with salt estuaries and southern black soils part of the vineyard landscape. Chardonnay, Muscat, Traminer, Cabernet, Bastardo and Pinot Noir are among the region's plantings. South of Odesa, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi is a historic wine area. Odesa's wine history is linked to Greek colonies on the Northern Black Sea around 600 BC, although cultivated grapes were present in what is now Ukraine before then.
