The Producer

SHABO was established in 2003 on the site of an older wine-production operation in SHABO village. Its structure comprises separate wine, sparkling-wine and brandy houses, with combined annual production capacity above 26 million bottles.

SHABO reports 1,200 hectares of vineyards containing more than four million vines from 20 European and Georgian varieties. Named plantings include Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Muscat Ottonel, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Rhine Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer Pink and Chardonnay, alongside Telti-Kuruk.

The producer owns more than 40 hectares of Telti-Kuruk in the Odesa region. Its oldest fruiting vines of the variety are reported as 50 years old. SHABO has also worked for years with French consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt.

Wines

SHABO Reserve Telti-Kuruk is a varietal white wine. Bunches for the Reserve collection are sorted before gentle pressing under a fully inert atmosphere in French Vaslin Bucher Inertys presses. At the 2026 London Wine Competition, the 2024 wine showed lemon, pear and grass, with balanced acidity and a clean, medium-length finish.

SHABO Original Collection Cabernet is made from Cabernet Sauvignon. It ferments in stainless steel for 7-10 days at 26-28°C, followed by post-fermentation maceration whose duration is set through expert tasting. Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel at 20°C, a step SHABO associates with greater softness and balance.
