Commercial planting near Hua Hin followed encouraging results from a 2003 experiment at the Huai Sai Royal Research project. The valley vineyard lies in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, about 35 km from Hua Hin beach, with cooler nights and hill breezes. Collected rainwater supplies irrigation during the dry season. The site was once associated with an elephant corral and is the largest of Monsoon Valley's three vineyard locations. Grapes include Muscat, Dornfelder, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. Wines range from white, red and rosé to late-harvest and sparkling styles. Monsoon Valley uses the term New Latitude wines for wines made outside traditional wine-growing latitudes.
