Producer coverage

Read about Pico below, or explore the area on the map.

Pico is a wine area in the Azores, on the archipelago's second-largest volcanic island. Its 987-hectare historic vineyard landscape is a UNESCO World Heritage property. Since the fifteenth century, long stone walls have run parallel to the rocky shore, protecting small vineyard plots from wind and seawater. The landscape preserves a cultivation system that was once much more widespread. Arinto dos Açores is more acidic than Verdelho, which is more acidic than Terrantez do Pico.
