Niksic

Nikšić is a wine-growing area in Montenegro whose vineyards include Nudo, in the Zaslapnica River valley. Nudo's 1.85 hectares of registered vines are concentrated around Javor at 400 to 500 metres. The local white grape Žilavka grows alongside Vranac, Kratošija, Rhine Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Within Montenegro's Nikšić administrative area, Nudo lies in the Zaslapnica River valley, separate from the country's other wine zones. Its 1.85 hectares of registered vines are concentrated around Javor, at 400 to 500 metres. Žilavka is the leading local white grape. Plantings also include the reds Vranac, Kratošija and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as the white Rhine Riesling. Earlier-ripening grapes and varieties that tolerate low temperatures suit the conditions here. Traditional and modern vineyards differ in planting density.
