A canyon of pink sandstone runs through Cinti Valley. Around harvest, days can reach about 35°C before nights fall towards 15°C. Winds are frequent and the climate is semi-arid. Old, ungrafted vines of local criolla grape varieties are traditionally trained into native trees. Vineyard soils include sandstone, shale, quartz, river gravels, sand and limestone-rich deposits. Camargo, Villa Abecia and Las Carreras are the principal wine districts. Established in 2014, the Valle de Cinti denomination of origin identifies wines from this protected area.
