The Producer

The Strehn family has worked in wine for four generations. In the 1980s, Monika Strehn converted what had been a mixed-farming operation entirely to winemaking. The vineyards are farmed organically.

The winery is based at Weinbergweg 1 in Deutschkreutz. Its range encompasses red, white and rosé wines, with particularly detailed distinctions among the rosé bottlings through grape choice, maturation vessel and texture.

Wines

Red and white wines sit alongside a rosé group whose bottles follow separate paths in the cellar.

Seerosé combines Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. It matures for five months in large wooden cask and stainless steel. Ripe peach and raspberry accompany a supple, full body.

Der Elefant im Porzellanladen spends six months in 500-liter wooden casks. It is powerful and fibrous, with aromas of blood orange, vineyard peach, Bourbon vanilla and herbs. The palate is full, juicy and rounded, with intense fruit and a long finish.

Blaufränkisch Rosé is made from Blaufränkisch and matures for four months in stainless steel. Citrus, prickly pear, peach, strawberry and meadow herbs lead into intense, juicy fruit on the palate.
