The Producer

Rhonéa brings together 142 winegrowing families. Their vineyards cover 1,300 hectares across Rhône Valley terroirs, with member holdings averaging about 10 hectares.

The collective grew from families creating shared facilities for producing, ageing and selling wine. Its economic objective includes fair prices and fair returns for producers. Rhonéa’s published address is in Beaumes-de-Venise, in the Vaucluse department.

Wines

La Beaume 2023 combines 65% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre. Traditional vinification includes pigeage, remontage, and a temperature-controlled cuvaison lasting 28 to 30 days. Red and black fruit lead the wine, with fine present tannins and a long finish.

Rasteau Prestige 2022 includes Syrah matured in 228-litre barrels for 12 months, using new, one-year-old and two-year-old wood.

Rasteau Signature Tuilé Hors d'âge is a Grenache Noir wine given more than 60 months of élevage. Cacao-like roasted notes, very ripe fruit and spice meet freshness, a velvety texture and a long finish.

Final Word

La Beaume’s long, temperature-controlled cuvaison, with pigeage and remontage, sits alongside fruit that develops over time from red and black fruit toward leather and tobacco leaf.
