The Producer

At La Cresle in Saint Satur, a cellar built in 1973 serves a domaine founded in 1850. The Bourgeois family has managed Domaine Laporte since 1986. The estate spans 21 hectares across Loire appellations and cultivates Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Organic viticulture has been certified from the 2013 vintage.

Place

Saint Satur places Domaine Laporte in the Loire Valley. The estate's appellation addresses include Sancerre, Pouilly Fumé, Menetou Salon, Quincy and Châteaumeillant. Le Grand Rochoy comes from a parcel in a 9 hectare vineyard on siliceous soil. Les Grandmontains comes from a parcel of nearly 5 hectares on a historic Ménétréol coteau with clay and flint soils.

Wines

Two named bottles mark the range: Domaine Laporte Sancerre Les Grandmontains 2023 and Pouilly Fumé La Vigne de Beaussoppet 2022. The first carries the Sancerre appellation and the second the Pouilly Fumé appellation.

Sancerre Les Grandmontains 2023 has bright citrus and green apple, lively acidity, flinty and saline undertones. La Vigne de Beaussoppet 2022 is the Pouilly Fumé wine in the range, with its vineyard name carried on the label.

Final Word

Domaine Laporte is a Saint Satur domaine with flint based Loire vineyards, organic viticulture, and named wines from Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé. Its range also reaches Menetou Salon, Quincy and Châteaumeillant, while Les Grandmontains places a named Ménétréol parcel on a Sancerre label.
