The Producer
Vignobles Gonfrier acquired Château Tanesse in 2004, expanding the family’s wine operations. The château is now part of the Vignobles Gonfrier portfolio, with Château Tanesse named as a red wine from Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux.
Place
Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux is one of the few Bordeaux appellations requiring bottling at the château. The rule places final bottling at the estate instead of at a négociant facility, making the appellation a production requirement as well as a place name.
Wines
Château Tanesse 2019 is a red wine from Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux. The bottle is named for the château and carries the appellation on its label.
Final Word
The vineyard’s silty and clay-gravel hillsides combine moisture-holding clay with gravel drainage, giving the vines different soil functions in the same ground.
