The Producer

Château Sainte Croix stands in Provence on the former lands of Thoronet Abbey, inside a fortified farm from the 12th century. Cistercian monks occupied Sainte Croix while the abbey was being built three kilometres away.

Florence and Stéphane Pélépol represent the fourth generation continuing the family estate. Stéphane took over from his father Jacques in 2007. The vineyard covers about 50 hectares. Fernand Pélépol created his first cellar in the village in 1927.

Place

The estate's address is Route du Thoronet, 83570 Carcès. Its named wines include Charmeur rosé and Réserve des Anges red under the Côtes de Provence appellation. Provence wines from the estate are sold in red, rosé and white forms.

Wines

The range covers red, rosé and white Provence wines, with Charmeur in the core range and eight rosés listed in the producer's rosé category. It also includes sweet Muscat and Réserve des Anges 2015, a dry, full bodied, oaked red Côtes de Provence.

Charmeur Rosé 2025 is a Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah blend. It brings raspberry, blackcurrant, rose and fresh pomelo aromas, with an unctuous, voluminous palate and light acidity. The wine spends three weeks in stainless steel tank.

Final Word

Château Sainte Croix is a Pélépol family estate in Carcès with Provence wines across red, rosé, white and sweet styles.
