The Producer
Château La Yotte was founded on its current site in Loupiac, Bordeaux, in 1664. The estate covers about eight hectares of clay and limestone soil. Its 2023 red uses Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Merlot in a 40%, 30%, 15% and 15% blend. The property has followed organic practices from the very beginning.
Place
Château La Yotte is based in Loupiac, Bordeaux. Its wines span several styles, from the 2004 white with candied and botrytized aromas to the 2023 red and Milan 2025, a fruit forward red made with carbonic maceration.
Wines
The range includes red and white wine, with different grape combinations and cellar methods. The 2023 red is blended from 40% Cabernet franc, 30% Malbec, 15% Petit verdot and 15% Merlot, at 13.5% alcohol. Red wines age in oak barrels for eleven months before release.
The 2004 white shows candied and botrytized aromas, with good balance, richness and length. Milan 2025 uses short skin contact and carbonic maceration, a fermentation method that can bring vivid fruit and a soft texture. It is open, ripe and modern, and serves as the estate's fruit forward entry point.
Final Word
Château La Yotte is a Loupiac estate with organic practices, oak aged red wine, and Milan 2025 made by carbonic maceration.
