The Producer
Caves da Montanha ages its sparkling wines in long underground tunnels, where temperatures stay between 2 and 3°C. Cool cellar conditions slow the pace of wine development while the sparkling wine matures. Adriano Henriques founded the company in 1943. The business has passed from parents to children and is now in its fourth generation. It produces, commercialises and distributes beverages.
Place
Caves da Montanha is based in Anadia, within Bairrada in Portugal. Bairrada is a wine-growing region and Portugal's sparkling wine capital. A Bairrada wine is identified by its regional origin, grape and style in the bottle's description.
Wines
The range includes sparkling wines, wines from several Portuguese regions, brandies, liqueurs and spirits. Montanha Baga 2021 is a dry white sparkling wine from Bairrada made from Baga. Its description gives the sweetness level, colour, grape and regional origin in one line.
