Valla Vingård in Ostergotland made its first plantings in 2024, choosing Solaris as its initial grape. The south-facing site has sandy moraine over limestone, where shale was quarried in the nineteenth century. The vineyard avoids chemical pesticides and grows Solaris for its disease resistance. This white grape can be made into dry, sweet or sparkling wines, using either steel tanks or oak barrels.
