Casablanca Settat combines fertile agricultural land with an oceanic climate. Around Casablanca, Atlantic cooling and high mountains add to the area's potential for winegrowing. Casablanca was a leading centre of Morocco's wine-industry revival in the 1990s.
The wine area includes the Zénatas vineyards and the Ben-Slimane plateau. Zenata is a Moroccan guaranteed appellation with vineyards around Tit-Mellil, Oulad-Taleb and Ben-Slimane. Sahel lies between the right bank of the Oum-er-Rebia and the Casablanca Settat corridor, including Berrechid, Ben Ahmed, Bouskoura and Settat. Doukkala, between the river's left bank, Sidi-Bennour and the Atlantic coast, is limited to rosé wines made with grape material grouped under the name Gros rosé des Doukkala.
