Jujuy's wine country includes Quebrada de Humahuaca, a defined growing area beside the Río Grande. Its eastern and western boundaries extend up to 400 metres above the river. Resolution 39/2015 formally recognised Quebrada de Humahuaca as an Indicación Geográfica, the Argentine term for a protected geographical indication.
