The Producer
Weingut Markus Huber works across a range led by Grüner Veltliner, made in several styles as Traisental DAC and Traisental DAC Reserve. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and fine brandies sit alongside the still wines. In years with favourable weather, the cellar also produces Trockenbeerenauslese.
Place
Alte Setzen, Berg, Engelsberg, Hochschopf, Obere Steigen, Rothenbart and Zwirch are among the estate's named vineyards. The vineyard soils are limestone conglomerate with a loess layer.
Wines
Grüner Veltliner Terrassen is entirely Grüner Veltliner from estate terraces, fermented and raised in stainless steel. Its aromatic register includes yellow fruit, white pepper and herbs.
Riesling Terrassen is bone dry and stainless-steel-raised, with white peach and lemon. The 2025 bottled Riesling Family Selection is youthful and very fresh, with pear, honeydew melon, apple blossom, white peach and lime.
Final Word
The 1.5-litre Riesling Family Selection is briefly skin-macerated before steel fermentation and lees resting, with pear, mineral, white peach, honeydew melon, herbs and lime.
