The Producer
The predecessor cooperatives of Prissé, Verzé and Sologny joined to form the current structure, with each retaining its speciality. Today, 120 member growers work approximately 900 hectares, and the facility processes about seven million bottles annually.
Solar panels meet 40% of the cooperative’s electricity needs. Some premium cuvées, including sparkling wines, may be fermented and briefly aged in older French oak barrels.
Crémant de Bourgogne spends two years on fine lees in bottle. The appellation requires nine months, giving the cooperative’s sparkling wine an additional fifteen months of lees ageing beyond that minimum.
Wines
Mâcon Verzé Croix-Jarrier is a single-vineyard Chardonnay. The 2022 is focused and bright, with lemon and lime fruit, a stony, chalky mineral edge and a long, fresh finish.
