The Producer

Underground Rosé is one of Strange Estate's named products. Surplus wine is sorted by taste profile, mouthfeel and quality before new products are developed. Anders Crichton-Fock, a university lecturer and researcher at Campus Grythyttan, and Karl Andersson are behind the collective.

The blending method has a scientific basis. Selected fungi are also used to adjust and harmonize flavour through natural chemical interactions. The finished products are packaged in cans, kegs and other climate-conscious formats.

Wines

The range includes rosé, red, white and sparkling wine. Packaging includes cans, pouches and kegs. Underground Rosé is available in canned and three-litre pouch forms.

The pouch version is light and fruity, with red berries and citrus. The canned version is fully dry and crisp, with subtle fruit, slight bitterness and fresh acidity. It carries 13.0% alcohol. The red, white and sparkling wines are named in the range, but their grape varieties, regions and vintages are unspecified.

Final Word

Surplus wine is sorted, blended and treated before it is made into new drinks in climate-conscious formats.
