The Producer

My Wine Estate is a Swedish wine producer and importer headquartered in Gothenburg. Its bottles arrive through two channels: brands developed with winemakers in Portugal and Italy, and wines represented through agency agreements. That split matters in the glass because there is no single estate vineyard or house grape tying every label together; each bottle needs to be read through its origin, producer and blend.

The current team includes Marcus Alexandersson, Amanda Nilsson and Joakim Marciasini. Around the bottles, the company runs tastings, wine fairs and a travel-and-wine club, putting Portuguese and Italian wine into a Swedish setting rather than presenting a single family domaine.

Place

Gothenburg is My Wine Estate’s registered base, but Portugal and Italy are the wine countries behind its portfolio. A label from this producer can therefore point in two directions: to a Swedish company that develops or represents it, and to the region where the grapes were grown and the wine made. Vale da Vida White Reserva 2021 makes that distinction clear: it is an Alentejo white from Portugal, while My Wine Estate is named as producer and My Wine Estate Nordic AB as importer.

My Wine Estate built its range around more than imported finished wine. Its own brands are developed with local winemakers, while agency wines add bottles selected from outside that work. Vale da Vida is an own-brand family that included Red Reserva, White Reserva and Rosé in 2022.

That structure keeps the focus on individual bottles. The Vale da Vida white can be approached as an Alentejo blend of three grapes, while an Italian agency wine should be understood through its own region and maker rather than assumed to share the white’s creamy body, lime scent or dry finish.

Vineyards And Cellar

My Wine Estate develops its own brands with local winemakers, while agency wines sit alongside them in the range: a proprietary brand such as Vale da Vida sits beside agency wines, with origin and winemaker relationship determining the bottle’s character.

For Vale da Vida White Reserva 2021, the blend itself supplies the practical wine detail. Antão Vaz, Arinto and Roupeiro are named on the 750 ml and three-litre listings. The published notes describe dry wine with marked acidity and a creamy, full texture, so the blend reads as a white built around ripeness and body without losing citrus-driven freshness.

Wines

The range reaches across Portugal and Italy, with own labels and exclusive agency wines serving different parts of the portfolio. Vale da Vida is the own-brand family in focus: in 2022 it included Red Reserva, White Reserva and Rosé. That is range architecture, not a claim that all three wines share one grape, vineyard or texture.

Vale da Vida White Reserva 2021 is the wine in focus. The 750 ml bottle is listed under Systembolaget number 57247; a three-litre format is also recorded. Both refer to an Alentejo white made from Antão Vaz, Arinto and Roupeiro. The named white has dry fruit, fresh acidity and a fuller, creamier body, whereas the red and rosé require their own bottle-specific detail before any tasting comparison.

In The Glass

Vale da Vida White Reserva 2021 opens with lime, gooseberry and a touch of freshly grated coconut in one tasting note; another finds tropical fruit, ripe yellow apple and flowers. On the palate, nectarine, peach, pineapple, plum and yellow apple fill out the fruit. Antão Vaz, Arinto and Roupeiro give the wine its local-grape frame, while its 13% alcohol and ripe fruit profile account for the broader, creamier weight.

Anecdote

In August 2022, My Wine Estate paired a SEK 3.6 million share issue with a large push for its own travel-and-wine club. At the time, the Gothenburg-based company was described as a subsidiary of eddbee group AB (publ.), which was reported to have about 750 shareholders. The company was already selling its own Vale da Vida and Cavates labels alongside external brands, and then-CEO Milenko Gabrilo described a club programme built around wine material, local tastings and trips to Portugal, Italy, Spain and France. The planned club expansion ran alongside the share issue, whose subscription period was listed from 6 July to 27 November 2022.
