The Producer

MNB Kruna is a winery partner in MONTEVITIS, funded by the European Union through Horizon Europe. Four family operated vineyards were chosen as pilot sites, including MNB Kruna. The producer combines family vineyard work with participation in a European viticulture project.

Place

Briska gora near Ulcinj lies in southern Montenegro's warm Mediterranean coastal karst climate. Warm Mediterranean conditions support grape ripening through sustained heat, while karst ground commonly drains water quickly after rain. The setting can give vines a long, warm season alongside limited water storage in the ground.

Wines

The range is weighted toward red wine. Status 2016, Status Barrique 2015 and Status Reserve 2010 are red wines, while Paradigma 2020 is white. Status Reserve 2010 is made entirely from Vranac, and Vranac is one of the grape varieties recorded at MNB Kruna's vineyard. Paradigma 2020 is made entirely from Chardonnay.

Final Word

At MNB Kruna, WS3 sensors record temperature, humidity, wind, air pressure and precipitation at intervals of 30 minutes, producing 48 measurements each day.
