Who makes it
Kullabergs Vingård works in Höganäs Municipality, Skåne County, with a current vineyard area of 22 hectares. Nicola D’agostini and Helena Lindberg are the winemakers and oversee viticulture. Immelen is the flagship wine, while the range includes white, red, sweet and sparkling styles.
The estate works with grape varieties from the PIWI family, a group bred for resistance to fungal diseases. That vineyard material shapes both the farming and the range, from Solaris and Souvignier Gris in white wines to Pinot Nova and Cabaret Noir in red wines.
Where it grows
The nearby sea affects temperatures, sunshine and precipitation at Kullaberg. Cool autumn nights help the grapes retain fresh acidity while remaining on the vines longer, bringing high aromatic character to the fruit.
This is Swedish wine from Höganäs Municipality in Skåne County. The maritime setting and long northern summer daylight define the growing conditions before the grapes reach the cellar.
How it is made
The cellar
The white plantings are Solaris, Souvignier Gris, Donauriesling and Muscaris. The red varieties are mostly Pinot Nova and Cabaret Noir, with smaller plantings of Rondo and Regent. Fruit is harvested both manually and mechanically, depending on the vineyard parcel.
In the cellar, steel highlights fruit, acidity and aromatics, while barrels bring more complexity and roundness. Josefinelust is made by the traditional method, with a second fermentation taking place in bottle.
What they make
Immelen is the flagship white blend. The 2023 wine contains 66% Solaris, 27% Souvignier Gris and the remainder Muscaris. Solaris contributes maturity and depth, Souvignier Gris contributes acidity, and Muscaris contributes aroma.
Langweg is a single variety Souvignier Gris wine made through a cross border collaboration. Franz Schuster grows the grapes in Styria, Austria, and Kullabergs Vingård carries out the vinification, so the wine is sold as an EU wine.
