The Producer
Ktima H. Herodotou is presented through Linos Winery in Cyprus. Mrs Herodotou began making wine in 1986, and in 1996 she and her husband Herodotos Herodotou moved the winery to its current premises. The Herodotou family wine tradition is dated to 1825. The range includes blue wine, a style whose colour is immediately visible before aroma or palate enter the picture.
Place
Omodos is a village in the Limassol region, and Linos Winery stands at 810 metres. The setting is associated with the limestone land of Afamis and a mild local climate. Limestone commonly drains excess water while retaining some moisture, conditions that can support steady ripening. A mild climate can extend ripening without exhausting acidity.
Wines
The range includes blue wine. Blue wine is defined by its colour, placing it outside the familiar white, rosé and red categories. The winery is one of only six worldwide, and the only one in Cyprus, producing blue wine.
Final Word
Ktima H. Herodotou brings together Omodos, a family wine tradition and a range that includes blue wine.
