The Producer
Aurélie Carreau trained as an oenologist and agricultural engineer before establishing her own venture. She worked as a technical manager on wine estates, mostly in Pomerol, and began her career as a technical director at prestigious Pomerol estates. Her winemaking places biodiversity and climate anticipation alongside the practical work of farming and fermentation.
Place
The property is a hillside estate in Cambes, with 2.2 hectares planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon on gravelly and clay limestone soils. IGP Atlantique is the regional category used for the wine, and the estate is registered there as an independent winemaker.
Wines
The named bottle is Mons La Graveyre Noveaux Bordeaux IGP Atlantique 2021. It is a red wine made from 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, with 13% alcohol and organic certification.
In The Glass
The IGP Atlantique wines show raspberry, blackcurrant and toasted notes on the nose. The palate is juicy and full bodied, with lush pulpy fruit.
Final Word
Château Mons La Graveyre is Aurélie Carreau's Cambes project, built around organic and biodynamic farming and a Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon red wine.
