Place
Château Blaignan is located in Blaignan-Prignac, Gironde, in the northern Médoc. Two limestone hills rise approximately 40 metres on the property. The soil is clay-limestone.
Wines
The range includes Château Blaignan Cru Bourgeois Médoc and Château Prieuré de Blaignan.
Château Prieuré de Blaignan comes from a 20-hectare enclave within the main estate. Château Blaignan has sustained deep colour, pronounced blackcurrant and black cherry, delicate spice, an ample palate, and silky, refined tannins. The wine has a modern Bordeaux style and a 3 to 10 year ageing range. Prieuré de Blaignan shows brilliant colour, intense red fruit aromas, supple tannins, and a delicately spicy finish.
Final Word
After vinification, Château Blaignan is aged 14 to 16 months in vats and barrels.
