The Producer
Champagne Larnaudie-Hirault is an independent Récoltant-Manipulant based in Trois-Puits. Michaël and Clarisse Larnaudie currently manage the house. Its work covers multiple parcels, and the producer holds High Environmental Value and Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne certifications. Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay appear across the cuvées.
Place
Trois-Puits lies on Montagne de Reims, and the vineyard is classified Premier Cru. Premier Cru is a Champagne vineyard classification, a level below Grand Cru. On the label, Trois-Puits names the village while Premier Cru identifies its classification.
Wines
The range includes three named wines: Les Trois Puys, Le Mont Ferré Extra Brut 2018 and Prestige Premier Cru. Les Trois Puys combines 33% Pinot Meunier, 33% Pinot Noir and 34% Chardonnay, with a dosage of 8 g/L, the sugar added after disgorgement. Its nose carries fresh fruit, butter and brioche, while the palate is marked by freshness, fruitiness and roundness.
Prestige Premier Cru combines 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay. Le Mont Ferré Extra Brut 2018 is the vintage Extra Brut bottling.
Final Word
The house's Extra Brut 2014 has a sustained gold colour, ripe fruit, pastry and beeswax notes.
