The Producer
Alexandre Cornot revived the historic Brimoncourt Champagne brand in Aÿ. The founding philosophy returns to Champagne as a light and joyful wine for celebration. Brimoncourt's wines are very fresh and made in a refreshing aperitif style. François Huré is the cellar master.
Place
Brimoncourt draws on four Champagne areas, with Chardonnays from the Sézannais and the Côte des Blancs and Pinot Noirs and Meuniers from the Montagne de Reims and the Marne Valley.
In Champagne blending, Chardonnay contributes acidity and citrus, Pinot Noir adds body, and Meunier adds fruit and roundness.
Wines
The core range spans brut, rosé, blanc de blancs and extra brut styles. Brut is a dry Champagne category, rosé marks colour, and blanc de blancs identifies a wine made from white grapes. Extra Brut comprises 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. It spends six years maturing in the cellar, with citrus aromas in harmony with minerality.
Final Word
Alexandre Cornot converted an empty printing works in Aÿ for the Brimoncourt maison.
