The Producer
Around forty local winegrowers founded Cave Robert et Marcel in 1956 as a wine cooperative. Prince Alexandre Rosé Brut Organic is associated with Cave Robert et Marcel. Vouvray De Chanceny Brut is produced by Cave des Producteurs de Vouvray, of which Cave Robert et Marcel is a member.
Place
Crémant de Loire and Vouvray are the regional categories printed on the associated bottles. Cave Robert et Marcel is based in Bellevigne-les-Châteaux, within the Saumur wine region of the Loire Valley. The appellation name on each bottle identifies its regional category. One label marks the rosé and the other the Brut.
Wines
The named sparkling wines differ in grape, appellation and cellar treatment. Prince Alexandre Rosé Brut Organic is a Crémant de Loire rosé made from 100% Cabernet Franc. It is fresh and lively on the palate, with an aging potential of two to three years.
Vouvray De Chanceny Brut is a sparkling Vouvray that undergoes élevage on laths. Élevage on laths is traditional method lees ageing in bottle after the second fermentation. During this stage, the wine rests on its lees. This contact can make the mousse, the texture of the bubbles, feel softer and can add creamy texture and light bread notes.
