The Producer
Carramar Estate is currently affiliated with Andrew Peace Wines in Swan Hill and was earlier connected to the Casella family. Its present bottle is Time for Bella Rosa Rosé, a rosé from Victoria. The current wine and the earlier label history have different affiliations.
Place
Time for Bella Rosa Rosé comes from Victoria within the broader South Eastern Australia designation. That designation also includes South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland, so it refers to a regional area rather than a single village or parcel. The current Andrew Peace Wines affiliation is based in Swan Hill. Earlier Carramar Estate history reaches Yenda in New South Wales, giving the label a different geographic setting in its older chapter.
Wines
The current wine is Time for Bella Rosa Rosé. Its blend is 40% Shiraz, 30% Colombard and 30% Sangiovese. The three varieties were vinified separately. Shiraz and Sangiovese were made as rosé, while Colombard was made as a white wine. It has flavours of peach, watermelon, herbs and blood orange, with 0.6 grams of sugar per 100 millilitres.
Carramar Estate's historical range extended beyond the current rosé. It included Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon from McLaren Vale and Chardonnay from Cowra. An earlier leading wine was a Griffith grown late harvest Semillon.
