The Producer

Calcagno is a family estate near Passopisciaro in Etna DOC, founded by Franco and Gianni Calcagno with Giusy from vineyards inherited from her grandfather. The family began bottling in 2006, growing principally Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante between Etna Park, the Alcantara area and the Nebrodi. Traditional vine training meets cellar experimentation.

Wines

The listed wines include Etna Rosso Calcagno 2021, Etna Rosso Feudo di Mezzo 2018 and the 2021 Etna Rosato Romice delle Sciare. Romice delle Sciare combines Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio with brief skin contact and stainless-steel ageing.
