The Producer
Biologist is a Ukrainian winery in Lisnyky near Kyiv, co-owned by winemaker Ihor Petrenko. Its vineyards include small biodynamic plots in Lisnyky and Bezradychy, alongside grapes grown in the Odesa region near the Black Sea. The winery was the first in Ukraine to announce biodynamic methods in both viticulture and winemaking.
Wines
Listed wines include 2024 Pinot Noir, Merlot and Odesa Black reds, plus the 2023 Biologist Chardonnay Orange. Odesa Black is a dry red from the Ukrainian hybrid grape, aged 12 months in oak; the orange wine is an unfiltered Chardonnay, Aligote and Traminer blend made with skin contact.
