The Producer

Vinory hand harvests Nebbiolo from plots that are a century old. Its Piemonte portfolio covers Barolo, Barbaresco, Roero Arneis, Nizza and Barbera d'Asti, with Nebbiolo, Arneis and Barbera named across its DOCG wines. Specialized winemakers take responsibility for individual vineyard crus.

Claudio Dacasto oversees Vinory's Nizza DOCG vineyard. Gianfranco and Gabriele Cordero are responsible for Roero Arneis vinification. Lorenzo Olivero manages Barolo vinification, and Claudio Roggero manages Barbaresco vinification.

Fabrizio Ressia practices sustainable viticulture and integrated pest control. Vinory also ages wine in carefully chosen barrels.

Place

Vinory's Barbaresco comes from Cru Serragrilli in Neive. Saline is described as ancient seabottom vineyards producing Nizza. Vinory's Roero Arneis is vinified from Cru Montebello.

On a Piemonte label, the DOCG identifies the appellation, while the cru narrows the wine to a named vineyard source.

Wines

The DOCG wines divide by appellation and grape. Barolo is the Nebbiolo DOCG, Barbaresco is another Nebbiolo DOCG, Roero Arneis is the Arneis white, and Nizza with Barbera d'Asti are Barbera wines.

Vinory's Nizza range includes Cru Moncucco Cavino, the largest Nizza DOCG vineyard, as well as Cru Bricco di Nizza and Cru Crocetta. The cru names place those Nizza wines at individual vineyard sources within the same appellation.

Barolo is layered and deep. Barbaresco is perfumed with rose and ripe cherry. Roero Arneis is crisp, floral and bright. Nizza is bold and smooth, with richness. Barbera d'Asti is vibrant, driven by fruit and easy to drink.

Final Word

Vinory pairs Piemonte DOCG appellations with named vineyard crus. Nebbiolo, Arneis and Barbera are the named grape categories, while the cru names narrow individual wines to their vineyard sources.
