The Producer

Bodegas Latúe is the name used by San Isidro S.C.C.L.M. in Villanueva de Alcardete, Toledo. The cooperative was founded in 1954 by 131 local families and sells its wines in more than 30 countries.

Two senior staff members were identified in May 2023. Export director Blanca Muro discussed the winery's international strategies and market challenges, while treasurer Teresa Iniesta presented Latúe's economic, social and environmental sustainability values.

In February 2022, Bodegas Latúe announced an investment plan exceeding €2.3 million. The programme included innovation, design and renewable energy, with work extending from quality-based selection during grape reception through winemaking.

Harvest timing is determined by monitoring grape ripeness and acidity. At the beginning of the 2024 campaign, the winery used mechanized night harvesting to avoid high temperatures, excessive must oxidation and unwanted pre-fermentation maceration. Latúe also pursues sustainable farming and reduced environmental impact throughout production.

Wines

Señor Burro Organico Tempranillo Syrah 2024 brings Tempranillo and Syrah together under the VdlT Castilla designation. The wine has a dark blue-purple colour. Its palate is very fruity and slightly spicy, with dark cherry, violet, raspberry, blueberry, pepper, liquorice and bay-leaf notes.
