The Producer

The McManis family has farmed California's northern interior since 1938. Fourth-generation farmer Ron McManis and his wife Jamie founded McManis Family Vineyards. Fifth-generation family members Justin McManis, Tanya McManis Heuvel and Dirk Heuvel now help run the business, with Justin overseeing purchasing and winery operations.

The winery was constructed in 1998 on a 40-acre site near Ripon. It is configured for small-lot production with extensive stainless-steel fermentation and storage capacity.

Wines

The range spans grape-named reds and whites alongside McManis Toasted Oak Red Wine.

McManis Petite Sirah is full-bodied, with chocolate, caramel, toffee and rich black-fruit aromas and flavours. A mocha-toned mid-palate carries into a long finish. Fermentation concludes in stainless steel, followed by seven months in new and used French and American oak.

McManis Cabernet Sauvignon opens with blueberry, blackberry, black cherry and smoke. Its medium-bodied palate brings black currant and black cherry, creamy, rounded tannins and mocha on the finish.

McManis Viognier uses fruit entirely from the family's River Junction AVA holdings and is cold-fermented in stainless steel. It is rich and velvety, with peach, pear and apricot aromas. Stone fruit, vanilla and minerality lead to a smooth finish.
