The Producer

Seven daughters of Gabriel and Éliane currently manage Domaine d'Ardhuy. The estate encompasses approximately 38.5 hectares distributed across 125 vineyard plots. Its vineyards follow an ethical, organic approach to viticulture.

Place

Corgoloin sits at the boundary between the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. Domaine d'Ardhuy's vineyards are exclusively in these two regions, placing the domaine across two distinct Burgundy wine areas.

Wines

Domaine d'Ardhuy produces six Grand Crus, 15 Premier Crus and 15 Village wines. Corton Grand Cru Les Renardes 2022 is a red Grand Cru from the Côte de Beaune. It has an intense deep red colour, with red fruits, plums and a hint of tobacco in the bouquet, and matures for approximately 18 months in French oak before bottling.

The Village tier includes Côtes de Nuits-Villages Domaine d'Ardhuy 2023, a red wine from the Côte de Nuits. The range therefore moves from a 100% Pinot Noir Village wine to a named Grand Cru red with longer oak maturation.

A Bottle To Understand It

Côtes de Nuits-Villages Domaine d'Ardhuy 2023 is the first bottle to open. It is made from 100% Pinot Noir and aged in French oak barrels for at least 10 months before bottling. The palate is dense and supple with a balanced mouthfeel, keeping the grape and Village appellation visible in the glass.

Anecdote

Pierre André's daughter Éliane married Gabriel Liogier d'Ardhuy in 1948, formally establishing the family estate. Pierre André had founded the domaine in 1930. The marriage joined the founder's estate to the Liogier d'Ardhuy family line, which continues through Gabriel and Éliane's seven daughters managing the domaine today.

Final Word

Domaine d'Ardhuy brings Corgoloin, the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune into one family-managed range, with bottles spanning Village wines, Premier Crus and Grand Crus.
