Who makes it
Domaine Bourdy has remained in the same family for many generations. Laura Bourdy took operational control and later acquired the domaine. She introduced an earlier-drinking range alongside the traditional oxidative wines, which continue to be made in the old cellar.
Where it grows
The estate is in Arlay, in the Jura. Its sparkling wines carry the Crémant du Jura name.
What they make
The range includes the traditional oxidative Jura wines, Laura Bourdy’s wines for earlier drinking and two Crémants.
Crémant du Jura Blanc Jean-François is light-bodied, with fine bubbles, pear, apple and citrus, followed by white flowers, brioche and yeasty notes. Its texture is silky. Crémant du Jura Rosé Jean-François is made mostly from Pinot Noir. It is dry, with strawberries, cherries, persistent bubbles and a lightly spiced finish.
