The Producer

Gaston Hochar founded Chateau Musar after returning from Bordeaux. The estate received organic certification in 2006. Local Bedouins hand-harvest the grapes in the early morning.

Chateau Musar calls its winemaking approach non-interventionist. The cellar uses natural fermentation and minimal sulfur, with no fining or filtering.

Wines

The red range draws on Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan. The white combines the indigenous varieties Obaideh and Merwah. The flagship red has long ageing potential, with blackcurrant, leather and delicate spice notes.

Chateau Musar appears in red vintages from 1999, 2010, 2017, 2018 and 2019. The named range also includes Château Musar 2018 as a white wine and Chateau Musar Rosé 2020.

Other bottles extend the range across Chateau Musar Hochar Pere et fils 2020, Musar Jeune 2021, Musar Jeune White 2022 and Levantine de Musar 2024. No vintage-specific composition or sensory details are established for these wines.
