The Producer
Bodegas Salentein was established in 1996 by Dutch entrepreneur Myndert Pon in Mendoza’s Uco Valley. Its vineyards span roughly 1,050–1,700 metres, with alluvial, sandy soils over stone and regulated trickle irrigation supplied by Andes meltwater; the winery itself sits at 1,200 metres and includes subterranean barrel ageing.
Wines
Listed wines include the organic 2021 Portillo Organic Malbec and the 2023 Salentein Barrel Selection Malbec, both from Mendoza. Portillo Malbec is documented as 100% Malbec from Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, while the Barrel Selection Malbec is described with red and black fruit, floral notes and a lingering finish.
