The Producer
Heirwegh fell in love with wine while working at a wine shop in Antwerp. The experience changed his life. Christel Weemaes brought a banking background, organised thinking and rational decision making to the partnership. The founders relocated to Spain seeking a different kind of life closer to nature, gastronomy and the slower rhythms of the Mediterranean.

Place
The vines grow slowly above the Mediterranean, among forests, herbs and stone. Altitude, wind and light affect their growth. Slow growth can lengthen ripening and help preserve acidity as the grapes mature.
Barcelona Brands S.L. is headquartered in Barcelona, in the Sitges area. The founders chose Penedès for its landscape, climate, soils and local grape varieties.

¡HOLA! CAVA is the named CAVA wine brand in Barcelona Brands S.L.'s portfolio of wines and spirits. Cava is a sparkling wine category. Its defining physical feature is mousse, the bead of bubbles carried through the glass. The brand is certified organic and vegan. Barcelona Brands S.L. selects vineyard sites with farmers and winemaker Joan Soler.
