The Producer

An unnamed descendant of Nicolas Alexandre, Marquis of Ségur, founded Segur Estates as a Portuguese wine-production project honoring the family's Old World heritage. Its estate portfolio spans Alentejo, Douro and Tejo.

The Redondo winery was established in 1989 under the name Roquevale. Its cellar can vinify two million kilograms of grapes, while the bottling line can fill 6,000 bottles per hour. The Roque do Vale family had worked the old Terras de Xisto vineyards since 1989; in 2017, those vineyards joined the Ségur family.

Third-generation Joana Roque do Vale handles the oenology for a Redondo amphora wine. The amphora work uses an Alentejo vinification process preserved from Roman practice.

Place

Redondo Winery's wines come from vineyards on the southern slope of Serra d'Ossa in Redondo, Alentejo. This is the physical setting for the winery's grape growing and wine production.

Wines

Rebecca & Fiona House Wine is produced by Segur Estates. It combines 33% Jaen, 33% Alfrocheiro and 33% Tinta Roriz. An independent product-information note gives the wine a dry, soft profile with red-berry flavour.
