The story
The First Jeanjean Operation
In 1872, Etienne-Maurice Jeanjean bought a parcel of vines in Saint-Félix-de-Lodez, opened an inn and started a wine business. He also officially registered the first statutes of the company that year. Farming, hospitality and wine trading sat together from the beginning. The inn served as part of the same operation that traded wine from its own vineyards and neighboring growers. Etienne-Maurice Jeanjean began Maison Jeanjean with vines, an inn and a wine business in Saint-Félix-de-Lodez.

The Jeanjean estates occupy different Languedoc settings. Mas de Lunès vineyards stretch over gently undulating hills parallel to the coast, with maritime influence and chalky soil. Domaine des Rocs is in the cool, wet Pic St Loup appellation. Domaine de Fenouillet comes from high-altitude schist parcels.
