The estate grows Broad leaved Melnik Vine and Early Melnik Vine, also called Melnik 55, alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Its portfolio covers naturally sparkling, white, rosé and red wines, plus rakia. Current winemaking is led by oenologist Svetlana Treneva and consultant Mourad Ouada, whose work includes promoting the local Melnik varieties.

The Producer
Logodaj Winery was established in 1994 in the village of Logodaj, in Bulgaria's Struma River valley. The winery uses modern Italian equipment and produces wine at a capacity exceeding three million litres a year.
Svetlana Treneva is the current oenologist, with Mourad Ouada serving as wine consultant. Their work continues the promotion of Broad leaved Melnik Vine and Early Melnik Vine, two local varieties grown alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
Place
The winery and cellar are in Logodaj village, while the vineyards lie near the Greek border at General Todorov. They sit in the Petrich Sandanski valley between Melnik and the ancient city of Heraclea Sintika, covering more than 700 decares.
The Struma Valley is a small southwestern region with climatic features that bring it closer to Mediterranean regions. General Todorov is also especially associated with Broad leaved Melnik Vine, an endemic variety distributed only in southwestern Bulgaria and particularly around the village.

Logodaj's portfolio covers naturally sparkling wines, whites, rosés, reds and rakia. The range therefore moves across colour, method and category, from wines with natural sparkle to still wines and a Bulgarian grape spirit.
Unity Reserva Merlot 2024 is a red varietal Merlot made from grapes sourced from different vineyards in the Thracian Lowlands. It has a dark blue red colour and a very fruity aroma and flavour profile, with oak, plum, chocolate, blackcurrant, blueberry, currants, herbs and vanilla. The wine has medium high body and tannin, high acidity and a lighter oak character. It contains 12.5% alcohol and 0.4 grams of sugar per 100 millilitres.
Early Melnik Vine, also called Melnik 55, is a hybrid involving Broad leaved Melnik Vine, Durif and Valdiguié. The variety was created to retain qualities of Broad leaved Melnik Vine while ripening earlier.
