The story
A President Inaugurates Tavel
In 1938, French President Albert Lebrun inaugurated the Cave de Tavel. The cellar is the only cooperative cellar in France ever inaugurated by a head of state. The building later became the first French wine cooperative inscribed as a national heritage site. Albert Lebrun's visit became part of the cellar's physical history, alongside the architecture that later received national recognition. The opening remains tied to one person, one building, and one date: the president at Cave de Tavel in 1938, before the heritage inscription that followed.
