Soil And Site

Pouilly-Fuissé Aux Chailloux comes from deep marl and clay soils. Marl combines clay with carbonate material, while clay can retain moisture through the growing season. In white wine, this ground can support a fuller texture and a broad palate.

Aux Chailloux is a premier cru, a named vineyard level within Pouilly-Fuissé. Its site status and deep soils give the cuvée a defined place within the domaine's range.

Story

William Trouillet describes improvement as a series of small steps, always moving forward. Over 15 to 18 years, the domaine expanded from 10 to 20 hectares while vine maturity remained a priority. The vines average 40 to 50 years old, and some Pouilly premier cru parcels reach 80 years.
