Gaston Bottles at Home
In 1919, Gaston Grivot was among the first estates to bottle wine in its own winery. Estate bottling was still an early choice at the time. The family later made the practice universal in 1959, when all wines were estate bottled. The two dates mark a move from Gaston acting in the winery to a rule applied across the domaine. The final stage of production stayed inside the estate, from the family's parcels to the bottle.
Mathilde and Hubert Take Over
In 2010, Mathilde and Hubert Grivot made their first vintage with their father, Étienne. In 2017, they took full control of the domaine. The handover came ahead of Étienne's stated plan to transfer leadership in 2020. Mathilde and Hubert first worked beside their father in the cellar, then assumed responsibility for the domaine's wines and vineyards.
