Place
Fruit comes from three hillsides in Les Aspres, a classified terroir at nearly 100 metres altitude. The estate sources from this defined area, with the hillside fruit entering a range that separates Family Portraits wines from parcel-based cuvées.
Les Aspres is the geographic name attached to the estate's fruit. The wines retain the house preference for full maturity with freshness, without allowing ripe fruit to become over-ripe.
Story

Vineyards And Cellar

Patterns by Charles Perez is made from 80% Grenache Noir, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre. Grenache Noir forms the largest share, with Syrah and Mourvèdre completing the red blend.
Wines
Family Portraits is the entry-level tier, with Classique, Barrique and Excellence. Alongside it sits a parcel-based collection, where the bottles are organised around more specific vineyard sources.

The red wines carry silky, fine tannins. Mas Bécha Classique 2020 opens with ripe red and black fruits, followed by pepper, cinnamon and licorice, with thyme and rosemary adding herbal complexity.
The palate is velvety and full-bodied, with silky tannins, ripe fruit flavours and decent length on the finish. It remains easy-drinking despite its weight, with the fruit carrying through the final impression.
