The story
The 2017 Purchase
Mark Nunnelly and Denise Dupré purchased Domaine Belleville in 2017. The same couple owned Leclerc Briant, a Champagne producer, and acquired Château du Commaraine in Pommard. Their holdings therefore reached from a Rully domaine to a Champagne house and a Pommard château. Domaine Belleville remained the estate with vineyards extending across the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise, preserving a wide Burgundy portfolio under the new ownership.
Four Years To Certification
Domaine Belleville began its organic conversion in late 2017, shortly after the ownership change. Certification arrived in 2021, covering 18 hectares of the established Burgundy vineyards. The estate's parcel by parcel approach continued across holdings in Gevrey-Chambertin, Rully and the other appellations in its portfolio. The farming change was completed across four years, from the start of conversion to certified organic production.
