The Marriage That Founded Arlaud
In 1942, Renée Amiot, a Burgundian, married Joseph Arlaud, a man from Ardèche. The union founded Domaine Arlaud and made Renée's family vineyard parcels the estate's starting point. Joseph's origin outside Burgundy is part of the founding scene, while Renée brought the Burgundian side of the family. The domaine began as a marriage between two people and two places, then continued under the Arlaud name as the vineyard expanded. The founding date remains 1942.
