From Jackson To Classification
In 2003, Jess Jackson acquired Château Lassègue from the Freylon family. The property included an 18th century château and a 24 hectare Right Bank vineyard, with vines averaging over 40 years old. After Jackson died in 2011, Barbara Banke assumed management of the estate. Annual production is close to 10,000 cases per vintage. The wines are fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged in French oak barrels. In the 2022 Saint Émilion classification, Château Lassègue received Grand Cru Classé status. The wines are welcoming and authentic.
