The story
Emmanuel Tessandier Builds Lescalle
In 1875, Emmanuel Tessandier, a Banque de France manager in Bordeaux and then Paris, built Château Lescalle and created its vineyards on palus soil overlooking the Garonne. Palus soil is sand and clay. The building and vineyard established the family's Bordeaux presence in the nineteenth century. In 1954, the Tessandier family acquired Château Maucamps and later added several more châteaux to its portfolio. Château Dasvin-Bel-Air is crafted by the Tessandier family.
